Immerse Yourself in the Arts of Tibet and India at Brookfield Place Winter Garden
You're not going to want to miss this! A highlight of the stunning Transcendent Arts of Tibet and India performances (April 4-15) currently happening at one of our favorite Battery Park City destination venues, the Winter Garden at Brookfield Place, is a real-time creation of a mandala painting. Every day from 11AM-7PM this week, you can watch Tibetan Monks build the sacred painting using millions of grains of colored sands!
Presented by Brookfield Place's renowned arts & culture program, Arts Brookfield, the first week of the festival closes with "a full performance by the Monks of the Drepung Loseling Monastery on Friday night and a fascinating closing ceremony for the sand mandala with a procession to the Hudson river on Saturday."
The immersive program continues next week with stunning dance and musical shows, featuring daily performances of Bharatanatyam dance alongside live North and South Indian classical vocal and instrumental music. See the full performance schedule here, and tell us what you think of the shows in the comments!
