Approaching the Holidays: Winter Fun in Battery Park City
Nothing showcases the best part of winter better than a skating rink! And Brookfield Place has opened not just a skating rink - but one that offers both public skating and private lessons taught by actual Olympians!
Instructors Melissa Gregory & Denis Petukhov are world renowned, top-ranked US Olympic figure skating athletes who have won numerous medals and championships.
Skate over to The Rink at Brookfield Place to take in the winter fun.
Santa’s Winter Wonderland will also be coming to Brookfield Place on December 2nd: Get your picture taken with the man in red. And take in free performances of the holiday classic The Nutcracker (December 2nd and 5th) - performed by the New York Theater Ballet!
And, while at Brookfield, you'd miss out if you didn't visit Luminaries! (On from December 1 to January 29th)
"A mesmerizing holiday light installation designed by the LAB at Rockwell Group, based on the season’s traditions of sharing, giving, and community. Visitors are immersed in a canopy of glowing lanterns suspended within the Winter Garden at Brookfield Place, each changing color and intensity. Touch-sensitive “wishing stations” on the ground invite visitors to send a holiday wish, which materializes as a burst of color traveling through the lanterns above. For the second year, Arts Brookfield has partnered with the GRAMMY Museum to support music education programs, donating $1 up to $25,000 for every wish made."

Finally, head over to Holiday Lights at South Cove on December 8 at 6:15pm to enjoy a cozy evening with the community. Featuring caroling, warm beverages, cookies, and even a very special guest at the tree lighting. If you'd like to donate to Stockings with Care, bring a new unwrapped children’s gift.
